A Schertz Tradition, One Pie at a Time
Big Papa's Pizza & Sports has been a Schertz staple for years, best known for turning Wednesday nights into a standing tradition — regulars order pizza, settle in for trivia, and call owner Davin and his staff "wonderful people who have become dear friends." Families have been coming back weekly for over six years, and they'll tell you the food, service, and atmosphere have never slipped.
The pizza itself draws serious praise from people who know good pizza — one longtime New York transplant calls it "some of the better places in the area," from the classic pepperoni pie to the signature Hawaiian. Wings are just as big a draw: traditional wings tossed in chipotle mango BBQ, or the buzzed-about hot honey, are the kind of dish guests say to "try and thank me later."
With a dozen televisions covering every game, NFL Ticket on Sundays, and a full bar, Big Papa's works equally well for a family dinner or a night out with friends. Whether it's a quick lunch special or a full night of pizza and trivia, the goal here hasn't changed in years: honest food, a full bar, and a room that feels like home.
